Millions of social media users got to share in the joy of a child reuniting with his previously missing pooch. The boy’s mom uploaded the video of the reunion to their city’s Facebook page for lost and found pets to announce that the dog was back, but she didn’t expect it to go viral.
Kase, the pooch, went missing for a little over a month before finally returning to his home in Lubbock, Texas. Paula Williams, his owner, reports that they let Kase pop outside for a bit to take care of business.
But when she went to call the dog back inside, he wasn’t there. Paula and her son Kahne, who was six years old at the time, rushed outside to search for Kase, but it was as if he had vanished into thin air.
Kahne was distraught. He was born into an animal-loving family, so he grew up surrounded by pets. However, Paula says her son’s bond with Kase was exceptional.
Kahne personally chose him from his litter. Hence, from then on, Kase was the child’s very own puppy and best friend.
One week after Kase went missing, a blizzard struck the area. Snow lay thickly on the ground. Paula and Kahne became even more worried.
Was the pooch out there, shivering from the cold? Or was he someplace warm? The two hoped against hope that it was the latter. If Kase couldn’t be with them, then he was at least safe.
Thankfully, the canine was indeed out of harm’s way when the snowstorm happened. As it turns out, a family living down the street had seen Kase when he wandered from his home. They didn’t know who the pooch belonged to, so they took him in and kept him well-fed.
Paula found out by sheer coincidence. About a month after Kase disappeared, she was driving home when a school bus blocked her path.
The fur mom was waiting for it to move when she spotted Kase running up to a pair of girls who had just stepped off the bus. Paula immediately parked by the side of the road, approached the children, and told them that the canine belonged to her family.
She was thankful to her neighbors for taking care of Kase. However, it was time for the dog to go home.
When Kahne returned from his grandma’s place, Paula said that she had a surprise waiting for him. The child, wondering what it was, walked over to his mom’s car.
Seeing Kase waiting for him, Kahne broke down in tears and hugged the pooch. Kase smothered the boy’s face in kisses as if to say, “I missed you too.” Watch their emotional reunion here:
