The photo of a dog named Emra and United States Air Force Staff Adam Wylie reuniting exuded so much emotion. The photograph has since then gone viral and made some people cry.
Adam was deployed to South Korean from 2012 to 2014, and there he met the Belgian Malinois pooch, Emra. The two immediately built rapport because the dog is outgoing while Adam was very impressed with the dog. Emra is the service dog of the Air Force, where Adam got deployed.
Adam’s contract with the Air Force ended in 2014, and he had to go back to the US to serve the military. Since he does not own the pooch, Emra had to be left behind in South Korea. This broke not only Adam’s heart but also Emra’s. They became the best of friends in a short span.
According to Adam, it was the dog who lifted his spirit during the times when he was down. He also said that the dog became his family while he was far away from his real family. Living in a foreign land was difficult, but since he had Emra by his side, he somehow forgot the feeling of homesickness.
A few years later, Adam and Emra reunited with each other. This became possible because of the efforts of the American Humane Society. The group is a charitable organization that helps military personnel reunite with their service dogs. The organization flew Emra from South Korea to Adam’s residence in Washington.
When Adam learned of this development, he felt ecstatic and excited to see the dog again. During their meeting, Emra still recognized Adam even after several years apart. This made Adam cry because he knows that he became instrumental in the dog’s life. Now that they are together, Adam vowed that he would never leave Emra again.
